Docstories Black Sea

Docstories Black Sea was unique training initiative of the Noosfera Foundation, IDFA and IDFAcademy focusing on documentary storytelling. The workshop dealt with different techniques of building a storyline, with innovative dramaturgical structures, new TV formats and web documentaries. Internationally renowned tutors and experts trained 20 selected participants who applied with projects at the development as well as at the rough-cut stage.

Documentary directors, editors, producers and other TV or media professionals from the greater Black Sea region (Russia, Ukraine, Turkey, Romania, Bulgaria, Moldova, Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Byelorussia) have applied to this training program. The selected applicants took part in three workshop-sessions: Tbilisi (Georgia), Sibiu (Romania) and Amsterdam (The Netherlands) during IDFA 2012 and the IDFAcademy. They attended master classes, open sessions and all industry events of the festival and they presented their projects at the most important doc event in Europe.

Docstories Black Sea was supported by the European Union through the Media Mundus 2012 Programme, by the Open Society Foundation (Georgia), IDFA, Astra Film Fest (Romania) & the Goethe Institute.
